EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a wanted man on warrants for multiple child sex crime charges after the suspect initially resisted arrest, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested 47-year-old Hector Martinez on Friday, July 11. He was wanted on eight counts of sexual assault of a child, seven counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of indecency with a child by sexual contact, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies with the Fugitive Apprehension Unit found and apprehended Martinez along the 6000 block of Delta Drive in South-Central El Paso.
The Sheriff’s Office said that Martinez initially resisted arrest but deputies were able to take him into custody without further incident. They did not provide any more details on that aspect of the case.
