KTSM News – El Paso County Sheriff’s Office unveils new uniform, badge, patch

Posted on October 2, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO) deputies will transition to a new uniform, badge, and shoulder patch.

Currently, deputies and detention officers wear different uniforms and badges. The Sheriff’s Office said that under the new administration, all deputies and detention officers will transition to a single look: an all-navy blue uniform, a new badge, and a new shoulder patch.

The new shoulder patch prominently features the El Paso County Courthouse, serving as a symbol of justice and a reminder of the Sheriff’s Office’s responsibility to uphold the law with fairness and integrity, according to EPCSO in a news release.

The Sheriff’s Office said that the transition will be phased in over the next two to three years through EPCSO’s yearly uniform replacement plan.

As employees are issued new uniforms, the older styles will be replaced with the new navy-blue design, badge, and patch. This gradual rollout will ensure there is no negative impact on the county budget.

During this period, the public will see personnel wearing either the current or the new uniform until the transition is complete, EPCSO said.
