The County says the skate park will be named after Lizebeth Avila who was a “passionate skater that tragically passed away in 2021 due to a severe head injury sustained at a non-County skatepark. During the groundbreaking ceremony, the Avila and Rodriguez families will be present to commemorate Avila’s life.”
The Estrella Skatepark is scheduled for completion by April 2025 and will be partially funded by
a Texas Parks and Wildlife Grant that the County received in 2021, the County said.
In addition to the skatepark, the project will include the construction of an adventure course, a sports course, and the installation of native landscaping, the County said.
