EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Democrats will be taking part in the Democratic National Convention from Monday through Thursday, Aug. 19-22 in Chicago.
Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will kick off the fall campaign on top of the Democratic national ticket taking on the Republican ticket of former President Donald Trump and his running mate U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance.
Members of the El Paso Delegation include: U.S. Veronica Escobar; State Sen. Cesar Blanco; County Commissioner David Stout; former City Rep. Alexsandra Annello; County Democratic Chairman Michael Apodaca; Yvonne Daniels; Alica De Jong Davis; Javier Paz; Jack Heydeman; and Craig Sterrette, according to a news release sent out by the El Paso County Democratic Party.
Escobar will also serve as co-chair of the convention on Thursday night, according to a report from USA Today.
“As delegates, we are excited to hear from the numerous speakers and network with fellow Democrats across the country and its territories to ensure that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz become our next President and Vice President of the United States,” El Paso Democrats said in their news release.
