EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Fire Department will remember and honor the memory of those who lost their lives during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attracks with a ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
The annual ceremony will be at 9 a.m. Sept. 11 at Fire Station 18, 7901 San Jose Road.
Members of the El Paso Fire Department, along with local dignitaries, first responders, and community members, will gather to pay tribute to the nearly 3,000 victims of the attacks, including the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice that day, the El Paso Fire Department said.
“The 9/11 ceremony is a time for us to reflect on the courage and selflessness of the first responders who ran toward danger to save lives. It’s also a moment to reaffirm our commitment to service and the safety of our community,” Fire Chief Jonathan Killings said. “We invite the community to join us in honoring the heroes of 9/11 and showing our support for those who continue to serve.”
The event is open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure parking and seating.
