EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Ten artists from El Paso and Ciudad Juárez will collaborate on a 30-foot panoramic exhibit and will sell a variety of artwork at a vendor market this weekend as part of La Frontera Print Festival.
The cultural event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Outlet Shoppes at El Paso.
The artists will create a visual representation of the Borderland region. They will live print 24-inch-by-36-inch linoleum panels that will be combined to form a 30-foot panoramic view of the sister cities, according to the Outlet Shoppes in a news release.
The Outlet Shoppes said each panel will feature Borderland icons, personal stories, and landscapes that showcase the region’s shared culture.
“We wanted to create something that truly reflects the unity and creativity of our border communities,” event founder Susan “Skuishi” Gonzalez said. “This is more than just an art project. It’s a way to tell the story of El Paso, Ciudad Juárez, and Las Cruces through a shared cultural lens.”
The art vendor market will feature different types of artwork for sale by local artists such as Skuishi Press, Printmeikiando, Silver Pick Studios, K.A. Arts, Jackdaw Russell, David Antonio Sanchez Carrillo, and more.
The Outlet Shoppes said La Frontera Print Fest was created as a cultural event to share, inspire, and exhibit printmaking in the Borderland region.
The event is free to attend and additional information on artists can be found on the EventBrite page.
