KTSM News – El Paso Live venues to implement new clear bag policy, cashless transactions

Posted on September 6, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM)—El Paso Live will implement a new “clear bag” policy for all its venues and cashless transactions, starting in September.

According to the news release by El Paso Live, the Plaza Theatre, the Abraham Chavez Theatre and McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre put the new changes into effect on Sept. 1.

The clear bag policy allows guests to bring the following permitted items:

One clear bag per guest that is made of plastic, vinyl or PVC with dimensions no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches

Small clutch purses no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap. These clutches are subject to search.

Each ticket holder, including children, is allowed to bring an approved clear bag and a clutch purse.

The new policy will be applied to ticketed events and will also limit the size of bags permitted inside the venues, according to El Paso Live.

According to El Paso Live, in addition to the clear bag policy, the venues will also have the following security measures:

Metal detector screening and a search of all items being carried will occur at all venue entrances. Guests with prohibited items will be asked to return them to their vehicle.

Diapers and wipes may be carried in a clear bag; however, diaper bags will not be permitted.

Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at designated
security gates. Guests requiring this service are encouraged to notify security staff prior to
scanning.

El Paso Live says to provide a safer, convenient and more efficient experience for guests, the venues will operate as cashless facilities.

In addition to the clear bag policy, all El Paso Live venues will operate as cashless facilities, according to the organization. Guests need to be prepared for cashless transactions at all concessions and parking entrances, according to the announcement.
