EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An El Paso man was sentenced in federal court to 15 years in prison for child pornography charges, according to the United States Attorney’s Office from the Western District of Texas.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says a device that belonged to Victor Enrique Artalejo, 60, was identified for downloading more than 3,000 files between June 2022 and September 2023. The files contained child sexual abuse material.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) executed a search warrant at Artalejo’s residence in March 2024 and seized a laptop and several other devices.
A forensic review revealed that Artalejo had downloaded and possessed 1,434 photos and 111 videos depicting child pornography. The majority of the victims were determined to be under the age of 12, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Artalejo was arrested in March 2024 and pleaded guilty in December 2024 to one count of possession of a visual depiction involving the sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of receipt of a visual depiction involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.
HSI investigated the case.
