EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 45-year-old man is dead after he rear-ended a dump truck carrying a load of sand on Tuesday, March 18, in Northeast El Paso, El Paso Police Department (EPPD) said.
EPPD said that shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Special Traffic Investigations unit was called to assist in a two-vehicle crash at the 11100 block of Gateway South.
The investigation revealed that Kentate Lamon Hubbard, 45, was traveling south on Gateway South when he rear-ended a dump truck carrying a load of sand, EPPD said.
EPPD said Hubbard died at the scene.
Contributing factors to this incident may have been high winds, low visibility, and speeding on behalf of Hubbard, EPPD said.
EPPD said this is the 12th traffic fatality of 2025, compared to 12 at this same time last year.
