EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 31-year-old man was shot and killed after an altercation early Sunday morning, June 1, in the parking lot of a Central El Paso bar, the El Paso Police Department said.
EPPD said that at 1 a.m. on Sunday, patrol officers were conducting a bar check at the Chit Chat Bar, 4808 Dyer St., when a gunshot was heard outside the business.
Upon investigating, officers located Damian Arce, 31, with a gunshot wound in the parking lot. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, EPPD said.
EPPD said the Crimes Against Persons Unit was called, and the initial investigation revealed that the victim was involved in an altercation with another man and, for unknown reasons, was shot.
The shooter fled the scene shortly after, and no arrests have been made, EPPD said.
As we previously reported, Arce was previously arrested in 2023 in connection with an incident in the parking lot of an East El Paso strip club that led to an officer-involved shooting.
Investigators are asking the public to contact police at the non-emergency number at (915) 832-4400, or to remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of El Paso at (915) 566-8477 if they have any information about this shooting.
