EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 36-year-old motorcyclist was killed over the weekend in East El Paso when he was speeding and crashed into the rear end of another vehicle, El Paso Police said.

Police said Lucero was riding a motorcycle at a “high rate” of speed, traveling east along Montana.

At the same time, another vehicle exited a private drive along Montana and began to drive down the road.

Police said Lucero was unable to avoid the other vehicle and crashed into the rear end of it.

Luerco was taken to a nearby hospital but died from his injuries, police said.

Police said contributing factors to the crash may include speeding by Lucero and the other vehicle possibly failing to yield the right of way.

This is the 30th traffic fatality inside the El Paso City limits, compared to 31 at the same time last.
