KTSM News – El Paso region can expect cold, wintery weather in week ahead

Posted on January 4, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — You asked, and Mother Nature answered. Wintery weather conditions are on their way along with chances for snow and freezing temperatures.

The shift in temperatures will come as early as Sunday, where the high will be near 60 with a low close to freezing. Through Tuesday, weather conditions will remain calm and quiet with more cloud coverage and highs more seasonal.

For Tuesday, a high around 50 is expected with a low near 30, but the next weather maker is on its way, taking shape late Tuesday and into early Wednesday. The chance for snow showers begins Wednesday morning and continues through Friday night. Wednesday will be drastically cooler with a high in the upper 30s and a low dropping into the mid 20s. Similar conditions are expected for Thursday, only a few degrees warmer. Come Friday, the chance for snow is slight, but not zero. A high near 43 is expected with a low in the low 20s.

A gradual warmup will be seen for the weekend, with calmer conditions. Highs will still remain below average, however.
