KTSM News – El Paso teen arrested after attempting to flee in reported stolen vehicle

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 17-year-old has been arrested after driving a reported stolen vehicle and attempting to evade arrest last week, according to the news release by the El Paso Police Department.

According to El Paso Police, Hendrix Lee Flores, 17, is facing a charge of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle. Hendrix was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a $5,000 bond.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, officers with the Auto Theft Task Force saw a previously reported stolen 2019 Kia Optima being driven by Flores, the news release said.

Police said the Texas Department of Public Safety attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Flores failed to comply and continued to drive.

Flores came to a stop at Spur 601 and Loop 375, where he was then apprehended without further incident.
