EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Veterans Affairs is reaching out to homeless veterans and having a special day for them make their lives just a little bit better.
The El Paso VA will be hosting a Homeless Veterans Stand-Down from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at the Armed Forces Reserve Center, 11701 Montana Ave.
Organizers say they will be picking up homeless veterans from several shelters around El Paso and taking them to the event. Veterans will be able to get two free meals — breakfast and lunch — a free haircut, free medical supplies and medical screenings. There will also be about 30 different vendors on-site providing information about access to low-income housing, mental health services and more.
If anyone knows a homeless or low-income veteran who needs assistance, you can call (915) 782-5300, ext. 3763.
