EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Water is partnering with local agencies to remind the public to “Turn around, don’t drown” with the dangers of flash flooding.
El Paso Water is also encouraging residents that live in flood-prone areas to have sandbags ready. Residents in need of sandbags can get them at select El Paso Water facilities.
Sandbags are limited to 10 per visit and residents will need to show a Texas ID or an El Paso Water bill.
The following locations will be distribution centers for sandbags:
Stormwater Operations Center
4801 Fred Wilson Ave.,
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. | Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Artcraft Booster Station
7830 Paseo Del Norte
Monday – Sunday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Blackie Chesher Park
9292 Escobar Drive
Monday – Sunday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
According to EP Water, each sandbag weighs over 30 pounds. Persons who cannot lift heavy items should be accompanied by someone that can assist carrying the sandbags.
