EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Pasoan Aaron Jones is staying put with the Minnesota Vikings.
ESPN was the first to report that Jones — a product of Burges High and UTEP — is re-signing with the Vikings on a two-year, $20-million deal. According to ESPN, $13 million is guaranteed.
The Vikings later announced that they had reached an agreement with Jones but did not disclose the terms.
Jones signed a one-year contract with Minnesota last spring for $7 million after spending his first seven seasons in the NFL with divisional rival Green Bay.
During his first year in Minnesota, Jones set career highs in touches (306), carries (255) and offensive snaps (700), according to ESPN. He didn’t miss a game last year.
Jones, who is known for flashing “9-1-5” after scoring a touchdown to give a shoutout to El Paso, was a fifth-round draft pick in 2017 after a stellar career at UTEP.
