EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Pasoan and one-time Chapin High School basketball standout KJ Lewis is taking his skills — to Georgetown University.
Lewis spent his first two seasons of college ball at the University of Arizona in Tucson but entered the transfer portal.
ESPN was the first to report that Lewis had committed to Georgetown, a one-time basketball powerhouse that has struggled as a program in recent years. Georgetown was 18-16 overall this past season and finished seventh in the Big East.
Arizona, meanwhile, advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, before losing to Duke.
Lewis, a guard, averaged 10.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists with Arizona during his sophomore season. He made six starts during the 2024-25 season.
