EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Sun Bowl Association crowned a new sun queen and announced her court Friday evening, Aug. 1.
According to the news release, the coronation was on Aug. 1 at the El Paso Country Club, located at 5000 Country Club Pl.
Executive Director Bernie Olivas, with Sun Bowl Association President Tamara Gladkowski and Sun Court Chairperson Linda Smith, presented and announced the 2025 Sun Court.
Caroline Mann was crowned as the 2025 sun queen, with Janais Millan as her lady-in-waiting. The other 12 contestants were named sun princesses.







The Sun Bowl Court dates back to 1936, when organizers planned the event along with the first Sun Bowl game, read the news release.
“This is a great time for young women to promote their city and to volunteer as community ambassadors,” according to the news release.
Contestants are selected based on poise, appearance, personality, communication and interpersonal skills, the Sun Bowl Association said.
In addition, contestants should also demonstrate knowledge of El Paso and all Sun Bowl events, according to the Sun Bowl Association.
The Sun Bowl Association said participants for the Sun Bowl Court must be full-time students at a college or university and in good academic standing.
