EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An El Paso Community College (EPCC) professor has earned international recognition for his leadership in technology education and research, the college said in a news release.

Professor of computer science and education research developer coordinator, Dr. Christian Servin, was named the HI-TEC Educator-of-the-Year in July at the HI-TEC Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
This is a national honor celebrating his contributions by preparing students for high-tech careers, according to EPCC.
Just weeks later, Servin was awarded the King-Sun Fu Award by the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society (NAFIPS) at its international conference in Banff, Canada.
This global recognition highlights his accomplishments in advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and computer education.
“These awards highlight our shared commitment to excellence in education, research innovation, and preparing the next generation of computing professionals,” Servin said. “It is a privilege to represent EPCC on both the national and international stage.”
In addition to his faculty role at EPPC, Servin serves as chair of ACM SIGCITE, vice chair of the ACM Committee for Computing Education in Community Colleges (CCECC), and chair of the IEEE El Paso Section, according to EPCC.
