KTSM News – EPISD board to possibly take next step in superintendent search

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Independent School District could possibly take the next step toward picking a permanent superintendent.

The EPISD Board of Trustees will discuss and possibly take action on hiring a consultant firm for a superintendent search during its meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 at the EPISD Administration Building, 1014 N. Stanton St.


El Paso ISD’s Sayavedra takes voluntary retirement after another marathon meeting

Back in June, after several tumultuous board meetings, Superintendent Diana Sayavedra agreed to take a voluntary retirement agreement.

Sayavedra will serve as superintendent emeritus until her retirement date on Jan. 30, 2026.

Martha Aguirre, who was the district’s chief financial officer, has been serving as interim superintendent.
