EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Erika Kirk will make her first public appearance days after the death of her husband, Charlie Kirk, on Friday, Sept. 12 at 6:15 p.m. MT.
This comes after the FBI and Utah law enforcement arrested the alleged shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, in what Utah Gov. Spencer Cox called a “political assassination” that happened on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Utah Valley University.
Investigators believe that the shooter acted alone and the investigation is ongoing.
“The evil-doers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done. They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith and of God’s merciful love,” Erika Kirk said during the live remark.
“You have no idea the fire you have ignited within this wife. The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry. To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die. It won’t. I refused to let that happen,” Erika Kirk said.
“My goodness, am I so humbled to witness, Charlie you alongside Jesus right now, doing what you always wanted to do, baby, makin’ heaven crowded right?” Erika Kirk said.
Erika Kirk is a 36-year-old mother of two children — a 1-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter — from Arizona. Erika Kirk and Charlie Kirk married in 2021.
Erika Kirk is known as a businesswoman, philanthropist and host to her podcast “Midweek Rise Up,” which aims to “push you, Biblical leadership to challenge you, and God-breathed Scripture to posture your heart for the best that’s yet to come.”
