I visited my father in Arizona last weekend. Yes, we were under an Excessive Heat Warning there too! So we did a lot of indoor, air-conditioned activities. However, I did brave the heat to stand under the shade of a tree to see the impressive fountain in Fountain Hills. (It took everything I had not to jump in and swim toward it!) An Excessive Heat Watch is posted for El Paso starting Wednesday.
TONIGHT: The skies will be mostly clear with just a few clouds early in the evening. The north-NW winds will range from 5-15 mph, and the low will drop to 69.
FORECAST: Tuesday will be mostly sunny as the heat begins to build back up. The NW winds will range from 5-15 mph, and the high will pop up to 101. An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect starting Wednesday. High pressure builds up rapidly for a stretch of extreme heat. Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a few clouds and a high of 107. The west winds will range from 5-15 mph. Thursday should be the hottest day with a high of 110. We’ll see partly cloudy skies on Thursday. Friday will be partly cloudy and 106 as the high pressure begins to subside. Saturday will be sunny and 103.
