EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 47-year-old Fabens man was arrested this week after he allegedly offered money to see a 13-year-old’s genitalia, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
Joe Hector Miranda, 47, of Fabens was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 4 and taken into custody on charges of ciminal solicitation of a minor, the Sheriff’s Office said.
At 4:45 p.m. Thursday, deputies were dispatched to a disturbance call along the 100 block of SE River St. in El Paso County County.
Deputies made contact with a 13-year-old victim, who reported that a male subject had offered money in exchange for viewing the victim’s genitalia, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies located the suspect nearby and identified him as Miranda.
Further investigation revealed that Miranda is a registered sex offender and had previously engaged in similar conduct, allegedly attempting to solicit minors for sexual acts earlier this year, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Miranda is being held under a “no bond” and remains incarcerated, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with additional information regarding Miranda to come forward.
“The Sheriff’s Office remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting children and ensuring that offenders who prey on minors are held accountable,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
