KTSM News – Family displaced after fire in Berino

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A family was displaced after a residential structure fire Thursday morning, Jan. 16, in Berino, New Mexico, according to Doña Ana County.

The County says at around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, rescue crews responded to a report of a fire located on the 100 block of Contreras Street.

Crews were able to contain the fire, kept it confined to the room in which it started, and ended up extinguishing it.

The local Red Cross was dispatched to assist the displaced family, the County said.

A total of 13 firefighters responded to the incident. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
