EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The El Paso County Attorney’s Office, in collaboration with the Center Against Sexual and Family Violence (CASFV) and the Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA), will be hosting the second annual Family Justice and Wellness Conference focused on combating intimate partner violence this week.
The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, and Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the Blue Flame Building, 117 N. Stanton St., Level 17, the County Attorney’s Office announced in a news release.
The County Attorney’s Office said the free event is open to professionals working in law enforcement, prosecutors, family law attorneys, victim services providers and anyone interested in innovative approaches to addressing intimate partner violence.
The conference’s goal is to “improve the community’s response to intimate partner violence through education, collaboration, and the sharing of best practices.”
Attendees can earn continuing education units (CEUs) and continuing legal education (CLE) credits, according to the County Attorney’s Office.
“This conference provides a valuable opportunity for professionals from different fields to come together, share their expertise, and collaborate on improving our community’s response to intimate partner violence,” Sanchez said. “By learning from one another, we can enhance our systems and better support victims.”
In addition, the two-day conference will feature a wide range of presentations covering topics such as “vicarious trauma, domestic violence high-risk teams and civil remedies for divorce victims.”
