EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Mesilla Fire Department and other regional firefighting agencies contained a barn and garage fire on Saturday, Feb. 22 in Las Cruces.
Fire crews were dispatched at roughly 2 p.m. to Fairacres Road about reports of a possible structure, barn and garage fire with farm animals inside, Mesilla Fire said.
When Mesilla Fire crews arrived on scene, the working fire was coming from a truck within the structure, Mesilla Fire said.



Mesilla Fire crews brought the fire under control within eight minutes, they said.
Doña Ana County Fire Rescue, Las Cruces Fire and New Mexico State University Fire arrived on scene later to assist.
According to Mesilla Fire, all animals were quickly saved without any reports of injuries.
The damage to the structure was mostly contained to the room of origin and no injuries were reported, Mesilla Fire said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by Dona Ana County Fire Rescue investigators.
