EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A fire damaged a home in Las Cruces on Sunday evening, Jan. 21, the Las Cruces Fire Department reported.
About 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Las Cruces firefighters were called out to a report of smoke coming from a home on the 1000 block of Mimbres Court. They discovered the fire was hidden within the wall behind the fireplace.
Fire crews were forced to breach the exterior wall and roof to extinguish the fire within the wall. The fire was contained shortly thereafter.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire and damage estimates have yet to be determined.
