EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A vacant building was damaged by a fire on Saturday, April 5, in Las Cruces, Las Cruces Fire Department (LCPD) said in a news release.



LCFD said crews were dispatched to the structure fire just before 4 p.m. on Saturday at the 1700 block of West Hadley Avenue.
Crews encountered heavy fire coming from the building when they arrived, LCFD said.
LCFD said that bystanders reported seeing a person inside the building earlier, but a quick search of the building revealed no one was located within the structure.
Crews bought the fire under control within 25 minutes. No injuries were reported, LCFD said.
The cause is under investigation, and no damage estimates are available at this time.
