EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A backyard shed was destroyed during a mid-morning fire Monday, April 8 in Las Cruces, the Las Cruces Fire Department said.
The fire happened at about 10 a.m. Monday along the 800 block of Madrid Avenue. When firefighters arrived, they found a fully engulfed shed.

The fire briefly endangered a nearby residence, Las Cruces Fire said. However, firefighters were able to quickly attack the fire and brought it under control within minutes, LCFD added.
A person was found in a nearby abandoned residence and was escorted from that building. The cause of the fire continues to be investigated. No injuries were reported.
