EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Players from Harmony Science Academy’s girls flag football team were honored before the Dallas Cowboys’ preseason game with the Atlanta Falcons on Friday evening, Aug. 22 in Arlington.
The Harmony Tigers won the Dallas Cowboys division in the inaugural Region 19 Female Flag Football season, and Americas High won the Houston Texas division.
Americas beat Harmony 25-6 to win the overall championship.
But that didn’t put a damper on what was a successful season for Harmony, one of the smaller El Paso area schools.
Friday, they got commemorative rings, met players, got to go on the field and were honored for their successful season.
Eight school districts, representing 39 teams, played in the first-ever Region 19 girls flag football season.
In addition, other championship teams from around Texas that participated in Dallas Cowboys-sponsored divisions were also highlighted and honored before the game.
