EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Doña Ana County Road Department temporarily closed the south end of De Lara Estates Road on Wednesday, June 25, in Chaparral due to flooding in the area, the County said in a press release.
The area has experienced heavy rainfall, and additional showers are forecasted over the next several days.
Homes that are located at the south end of De Lara Estates Road will be available through the El Paso Electric maintenance road and War Road/NM-213.
“Residents are urged to avoid traveling into the area. The flooded conditions, including mud, may cause vehicles to become stuck. The road will be reopened once crews have cleared the mud and water. The closure signage will be removed to show when it is safe to drive through the road again,” the County said.
