Posted on July 15, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Former El Paso City Council member Joe Molinar was charged with failure to stop and report a collision he was involved in earlier this summer, El Paso Police said.

The incident happened on June 29 at the Quik Wok parking lot, 1320 Lomaland.

According to police, their Special Traffic Investigations Unit was called out to the collision.

Their investigation revealed that the driver of a Ford F150 pickup, who was later identified as Molinar, backed up and collided with another vehicle in the parking lot. That other vehicle was unoccupied and properly parked, policer said.

Police said surveillance video obtained by the business showed Molinar drive away from the crash.

A warrant was issued for Molinar and he was booked into El Paso County Dention Facility on a $5,000 bond.
