EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A soldier from Fort Bliss was killed in a single-vehicle crash last weekend, officials with the 1st Armored Division said on Tuesday, June 3.
Spc. Brittney Delva, 29, was killed in an early morning crash Sunday, June 1, near Loop 375 and Spur 601, Fort Bliss officials said.
Delva was a field artillery cannon crewmember assigned to the 1st Armored Division Artillery.
“Fort Bliss expresses their heartfelt condolences to the soldier’s unit and family,” Fort Bliss said.
El Paso Police have not released the identity of the person who was killed, nor have they provided any additional details beyond their initial notification to the media about the crash.
According to our initial reporting, the crash happened after 2 a.m. June 1 at Loop 375 and Spur 601, police said. That is near the new William Beaumont Army Medical Center.
Police said that its Special Traffic Investigations Unit was called out to the scene. Police confirmed one person had died but provided little other information.
