Low temperatures of 28 to 32, especially in rural, low-lying areas, could affect: Tularosa Basin, Upper Gila River Valley, Northern Dona Ana County, and Eastern Hudspeth County. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. El Paso will drop to 39 at the airport, 35 in the valley. Las Cruces will be close to freezing at 35. Please make a warm place for pets, as they will not be prepared for the abrupt drop in temperature.

TONIGHT: KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to a significant cold front that will leave us very cold on Thursday morning. Many parts of the Borderland are under a Freeze Warning for Thursday from 2 AM to 8 AM, but El Paso and Las Cruces will NOT freeze tonight, even though we will get close. Under clear skies and with winds dying down to nearly calm, the low will drop to 39 at the airport, 35 in the valley.
FORECAST: After a cold morning, Thursday afternoon will be sunny with light, variable winds and a high of 74… an absolutely gorgeous afternoon. Winds will range from calm to 10 mph. Friday is Halloween and will be a fairly warm day with a high of 81. Enjoy mostly sunny skies with west winds that will pick up and gust near 30 mph, strongest on the east slopes. Saturday will be mostly sunny with cooler wind gusts. The west-NW winds will range from 10-30 mph, and the high will drop to 77. Sunday will be sunny and warmer with a high of 82. Monday will be sunny and 84. Tuesday will be sunny and 82.
