Posted on August 30, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – It’s Friday and Labor Day weekend is here. However, on Friday, we are expected to see partly cloudy skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

A cold front is expected to move into the Borderland Friday with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. However, the Sacramento Mountains will see numerous showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon hours.

Starting the morning fairly warm, winds will pick up at 10 to 25 mph east with gusty western slopes by 1 p.m. with a high of 93 by 3 p.m. Although thunderstorms are predicted later in the evening, strong gusty winds, heavy rainfall, and small hail is possible. Watch out for puddles of water and overall drive safe if planning to travel for Labor Day weekend.
