EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Gadsden ISD has teamed up with Chaparral Wireless to provide free internet service to all students in the district, the district said.
This project has been planned for several months and is now a reality, the district said in a short article on its website.
“The project includes the installation of high-speed internet infrastructure throughout the district, as well as the provision of internet-enabled devices to students who need them. This will ensure that all students have equal access to the resources and opportunities that the internet provides, regardless of their location or socioeconomic background,” according to Gadsden ISD.
The free internet service will use the same web filtering that students use in school buildings, according to the district.
Unfiltered service is also available for a discounted price for price for GISD student households, the district said.
“We understand the importance of providing internet access to our students in order for them to be successful in today’s digital world. With this project, we are making a long-term investment in the future of our students and community,” the district said.
“We are confident that this project will have a positive impact on the education and well-being of our students for years to come,” the district added.
To sign up, call Chaparral Wireless (575) 824-4255.
