EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A residential gas leak in a Horizon City neighborhood has forced streets to be closed off and first responders to arrive on the scene on Monday afternoon, June 2.
The gas leak is in the area of South Kenazo Avenue and Duanesburg Street, Horizon City Police said.
Streets in the surrounding area have been closed off to ensure public safety, police said.
Texas Gas Service is on-site working to identify and stop the source of the leak. Horizon City Fire has also responded to the scene.
No evacuations have been confirmed at this time, but residents are being urged to remain indoors and avoid using open flames or electrical switches until further notice, Horizon Police said.
Residents are being told to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
