EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Las Cruces Utilities Solid Waste announced that the Green Waste, Compost, and Clean Fill Facility (Foothills Landfill) will be closed for a couple of days this week.
The facility, located at 555 Sonoma Ranch Blvd., will be temporarily closed for the installation of new scales on Tuesday, May 20, and Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
This closure is intended to enhance operational efficiency and improve services to the community, the City of Las Cruces said in a news release.
During the closure, residents and businesses will be unable to drop off green waste, compost, or clean fill at the facility. .
As an alternative, community members are encouraged to use the Amador Avenue Transfer Station, located at 2865 W. Amador Ave., for green waste, compost, and clean fill disposal.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to plan accordingly and use alternative compost and recycling options during the temporary closure.
