Posted on December 24, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso Environmental Services Department (ESD) will not collect trash and recycling bins on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Christmas Day collections of gray and blue bins are rescheduled to Saturday, Dec. 28

New Year’s Day collections of gray and blue bins are rescheduled to Saturday, Jan. 4.

Residents should only roll blue bins to the curb if it is their household’s week to have recyclables collected.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR THE LANDFILL, CITIZEN COLLECTION STATIONS

The Greater El Paso Landfill and Citizen Collection Stations (CCS) also will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 in observance of the holidays. They will resume normal operating hours on the next business day.

FREE RECYCLING OF LIVE HOLIDAY TREES

The Citizen Collection Stations will recycle live holiday trees from Dec. 26 to Feb. 7 for free. A water bill is not required to drop off recyclable materials.

The drop-off sites are also available to assist residents with disposing of extra household waste. A water bill and matching ID are required for disposing of hazardous household waste, bulky items, or other extra household waste.

Locations:

Greater El Paso Landfill, 2600 Darrington

Central CCS, 2492 Harrison

Eastside CCS, 3510 Confederate

Mission Valley CCS, 2034 Pendale

Northeast CCS, 4501 Hondo Pass

TURKEY GREASE RECYCLING
