EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Hollywood icon Veronica Cartwright, known for her roles in “The Birds” and “Alien,” will make an appearance at the 18th annual El Paso Community Foundation Plaza Classic Film Festival.
The film festival will be from July 17 through July 27 in and around Downtown El Paso and the Plaza Theatre.
According to the news release by the El Paso Community Foundation, Cartwright will appear at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 25, for on-stage interviews before “Alien” and at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, for “The Birds.”
Tickets for each program are $10 and can be purchased at the Plaza Theatre box office and Ticketmaster, the news release read.
Festival passes are also available for purchase through the Plaza Film Festival’s website.
Cartwright, an English-born, American-raised actress, began her acting career at 9 years old when she made her film debut in “In Love and War,” according to the El Paso Community Foundation.
When Cartwright was 12, she was in “The Children’s Hour,” and at 14, she played Rod Taylor’s daughter in “The Birds,” according to the El Paso Community Foundation.
According to the news release, Cartwright’s career took off with “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” in 1978 and “Alien” in 1979.
Since the beginning of her career, Cartwright has appeared in over 100 movies and TV shows, including “The X-Files,” in which she received three Emmy nominations, “L.A. Law,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Will and Grace,” and “Man on the Inside,” according to the El Paso Community Foundation.
In addition, the El Paso Community Foundation said legendary Hispanic filmmaker Luis Valdez will also make a guest appearance at the event.
