EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 27-year-old man was arrested on early Wednesday morning, Sept. 3, for drunk driving and having other outstanding warrants in Horizon City.
Sergio Contreras, 27, was charged with driving while intoxicated and outstanding warrants for traffic violations. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility, according to the Horizon City Police Department.
At around 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, officers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation in the area of the 14600 block of Horizon Boulevard.
Officers made contact with the driver, later identified as Contrera, who displayed indicators of intoxication.
Officers conducted a warrant check on Contreras and found he had outstanding warrants for traffic violations with a bond amount of $1,025.00.
“The Horizon City Police Department reminds the community that impaired driving puts lives at risk. If you see a suspected impaired driver, call 911 immediately,” read the news release by the police.
