EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 20-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 26, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old teen last year, the Horizon City Police Department said.
Horizon Police said Joseph Nicholas Garcia, 20, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon at the 300 block of Emerald Woods. He was then booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a $30,000 collective bond.
In September of last year, a 17-year-old teen reported she was sexually assaulted at a friend’s gathering in Horizon City. She stated that the offender, later identified as Garcia, “forced himself on her,” Horizon Police said.
Horizon Police said that after a thorough investigation, detectives were able to identify Garcia as the offender through a photo line-up.
