EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A traffic stop in Horizon City led to the arrest of a man who was in possession of marijuana, methamphetamines and nearly $6,000 in cash, according to Horizon City Police.
According to the Horizon Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 6 at the intersection of Ascension Street and Horizon Boulevard.
During the stop, the officer saw what appeared to be narcotics inside the vehicle, according to Horizon PD.
Upon further investigation, the officer found marijuana, methamphetamines and $5,900 in cash.
The driver, identified as Anthony Mena, 27, was then arrested and transported to the El Paso County Detention Facility for booking.
During the booking process, Mena was found to be hiding additional narcotics on his person, according to Horizon PD.
He is charged with possession of marijuana and two separate counts of possession of a controlled substance, with total bonds totaling $6,500.
