EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Horizon City Police Department and ANP Driving School have partnered to offer affordable driver’s license education to residents of Horizon City.
The emphasis will be on preparing young and first-time drivers to become safe, knowlegeable and law-abiding drivers on Texas roads, Horizon Police said.
Classes will be hosted at ANP Driving School, located at 657 Horizon Blvd., and will be taught by certified instructors from the driving school.
The first class will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. The course fee is $125, which includes the class, certification, and driving exam.
The Horizon City Police Department emphasizes that this program reflects a shift toward education and prevention over enforcement.
“We want the public to know that our priority is education,” Police Chief Marco A. Vargas said. “We are here to help people gain the knowledge and access the need to drive legally and safely, not just to issue citations. We truly appreciate the generosity and dedication that Ms. Bertha Nieto, owner of ANP Driving School, has shown by making this valuable program available to the public.”
Nieto added: “We are excited to partner with the Horizon City Police Department to make driver’s education more accessible for our youth. At ANP Driving School, our goal is simple: ‘Drive Safe, Drive Smart, Arrive Alive.’ This program gives new drivers the tools to do exactly that.”
Program Highlights:
- Reduced-Cost Instruction: Affordable access to professional driver’s education
- Comprehensive Training: Classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel practice, and licensing exam prep
- Youth-Focused: Special emphasis on preparing new and young drivers
- Classes held at ANP Driving School
This course will be conducted in person, and registration must also be completed in person. For any questions regarding the course, you may contact ANP Driving School at (915) 858-6259 or Officer C. Morales with the Horizon City Police Department at (915) 852-1047.
