EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Horizon Police arrested three people for driving while intoxicated over the weekend.
All three cases rose above simple DWI arrests.
A woman was arrested and is facing a DWI charge after she allegedly drove through a closed lane in a construction zone, Horizon Police said.

Horizon Police say they arrested Veronica Campbell, 43, in the early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 10 after she drove through a closed lane in a work zone on South Darrington Road.
Campbell showed signs of intoxication, failed field sobriety tests and later provided a breath sample over the legal limit, Horizon Police said.
She was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for DWI. Bond was set at $10,000.
In another incident, a man was arrested by Horizon police and is facing a DWI charge and a charge of drug possesion.
Just before 2 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, Horizon Police officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation along the 14600 block of Horizon Boulevard.
The driver, Armando Regalado, 24, showed signs of intoxication and agreed to perform field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment, police said.
During the investigation, officers found an open container of alcohol and a THC vape pen. Regalado later provided a breath sample over the legal limit.
The vape pen tested positive for THC with a weight of less than one gram, Horizon Police said.
Regalado was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of more than .15, nearly twice the legal limit, and possession of a controlled substance of less than a gram.
His total bond was set at $3,000.
In the third case, Horizon Police arrested a man after receiving reports of a vehicle with heavy damage traveling on flat tires. The vehicle was suspected of being involved in multiple crashes on Saturday, Aug. 10.
Officers located the vehicle along Eastlake Boulevard and did a traffic stop on the 500 block of Desert Mist.
The driver, identified as Kevin Alonso Ortiz, 29, of Arizona, displayed multiple signs of being intoxicated, police said.
While conducting the investigation, officers also found a pistol in the area of the vehicle that was accessible by the driver, police said.
Ortiz was arrested and booked into El Paso County Detention Facility. He is facing a charge of DWI with a blood alcohol concentration of more than .15 and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
His total bond was set at $27,000.
“The Horizon City Police Department reminds everyone that impaired driving and illegal drug possession put lives at risk. If you see a suspected impaired driver, call 911 immediately,” the police department said in a news release.
