EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man was arrested last week after he injured a person with an unknown weapon on Tuesday evening, July 15, according to the Horizon City Police Department.
Daniel Fernandez was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest with a $32,000 bond. He was then booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility, police said.
Police said that around 7:30 p.m. on July 15, officers responded to the 14500 block of Calla Lily Drive about an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in progress.
Upon arrival, officers located an injured victim with visible wounds, and medical aid was requested, police said.
Police said the suspect, later identified as Fernandez, became combative against officers when they located him at the residence.
Detectives followed up with the victim at the hospital, and the investigation confirmed that a weapon was used. However, police didn’t specify what kind of weapon it was.
“We commend the officers involved for their bravery and swift action in ensuring the safety of everyone involved,” Assistant Chief José Kluge said.
