EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Hornedo Middle School in West El Paso was placed on a brief lockdown on Tuesday, Jan. 28, after a burglary happened in the area, according to El Paso Police.
Police say just before 1 p.m., they received a call regarding a burglary in progress along the 1400 block of Via Quijano in West El Paso.
A police unit that was in the area responded to the burglary and located a suspect, police said.
A foot pursuit ensued near Hornedo Middle School which is what led to the brief lockdown of the school, police said.
The suspect was taken into custody shortly after, police said.
El Paso ISD said the “hold” at Hornedo Middle School has been lifted and everything is back to normal.
