EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 22-year-old wanted man and known member of a gang was arrested Monday afternoon, Sept. 15 in Clint after he was seen jumping into a backyad of a home and then trying to hide out in a cotton field, the El Paso County Constable’s Office for Precinct 6 said.
Jason Armendariz, 22, was arrested on three active warrants — two for driving while intoxicated and another for driving while intoxicated — second offense. Armendariz is a confirmed member of the Paisa gang, the Constable’s Office said.
At about 3 p.m. on Monday, two deputy constables were flagged down in Clint by residents about a suspicious person who was seen jumping into the backyard of home without the homeowner’s permission.
A short time later, deputy constables found the man in a cotton field along the 13600 block of Alameda. There, he was being held by Clint residents, the Constable’s Office said.
The subject — identified as Armendariz — was taken into custody and when a warrant check was run on him, deputies discovered three active wrrants.
Armendariz was placed under arrest for the criminal warrants. He was transported to the El Paso Downtown Detention Facility where he was booked. The total bond on the three warrants is $40,000.
