Posted on April 2, 2024

LCPD has ordered additional decals that should be available within the next few weeks.

ORIGINAL: EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The men and women in blue in Las Cruces want to bring awareness to autism.

The Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD) is recognizing World Autism Awareness Day by handing out free window stickers for people with autism on Tuesday, April 2.

LCPD says the stickers will help police know that an occupant in a vehicle has autism spectrum disorder and will help eliminate misunderstandings.

People who have autism or those who care for someone with autism, can pick up the free sticker from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the Las Cruces Police Department located at 217 East Picacho Ave.

LCPD says the stickers are a first come, first serve basis, while supplies last.
