KTSM News – Las Cruces Fire opens registration for Fire Camp

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Las Cruces Fire Department (LCFD) is accepting registrations for their Fire Camp.

The camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 28 at Fire Station 1, located at 201 E Picacho Avenue.

Registrations will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, May 17 at Fire Station 1, according to the news release by LCFD. Parents and guardians are encouraged to arrive early, as the camp is only accepting 15 kids.

Youth ages 13 to 14-years-old are eligible to register by bringing proof of age and relevant information such as allergies and medical conditions, according to LCFD.

The Fire Camp offers a wide range of activities such as physical training, EMS training, fireground operations, confidence course and leadership mentoring.

Children in the Fire Camp will also be provided breakfast and lunch each day, with water and snacks, according to LCFD.
